BUILT ON OUR CATALOGUE

Test Press isn't a generic AI mastering algorithm. It was built by Woodlands Studio and trained on our own master catalogue — the same club records we've mastered for labels and DJs — by studying exactly how our finished masters differ from the premasters that came in. Every decision it makes is benchmarked against real WS masters.

WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR TRACK

The engine listens first: loudness, tonal balance, dynamics and stereo field. Then it works your mix toward the signature of our catalogue — gentle matching EQ, dynamics control tuned to how our masters breathe, multiband stereo width lifted straight from the DSP of our own Wiide plugin, a mono-solid low end, and true-peak limiting to proper club level. Nothing is slammed; the safety stages (true-peak ceiling, mono bass, phase correlation) are always on.

THE ANALOGUE DNA

Our official masters run through a hybrid analogue chain — boutique converters driven for weight, transformer warmth and analogue multiband tone. Test Press carries that DNA: its character stages are modelled on the behaviour of our chain, and the engine is tuned by A/B-ing its output against masters cut through the real hardware in our room.

Test pressings: the edits, demos and VIPs you're playing out this weekend. When a track is signed and heading for release, that's when it deserves the full treatment — our engineer-mastered service.

1. WHAT THIS SERVICE IS

WS Test Press is an automated mastering service operated by Woodlands Studio ("we", "us"). It produces club-ready masters intended for DJ playout — edits, demos, VIPs and test listening. It is a software process: no engineer listens to, reviews or approves your master.

2. NOT FOR OFFICIAL RELEASES

We do not advise using Test Press masters for commercial or label releases, streaming distribution or vinyl production. Automated processing cannot replace the judgment of a mastering engineer, and we make no promise that a Test Press master is suitable for release. For release-ready work we recommend our hybrid analogue mastering service. If you choose to release a Test Press master anyway, you do so entirely at your own risk.

3. YOUR AUDIO & YOUR RIGHTS

You confirm that you own the audio you upload, or hold all rights needed to have it processed, and that it contains nothing unlawful. You keep full ownership of your music and of the processed master. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and deliver your files, and to use uploads and processing results internally to calibrate and improve the WS Test Press engine. Your audio is never shared with third parties, published, or used for anything beyond running and improving the service.

4. FILES & RETENTION

Files are processed and stored on our own servers. Unpaid jobs are deleted after 7 days, paid jobs after 30 days, and stem data after 14 days. Deletion is automatic and unrecoverable — download your masters promptly and keep your own backups. We are not responsible for loss of files after these periods.

5. CREDITS, PAYMENTS & REFUNDS

Downloads are paid for with credits purchased through the Woodlands Studio store, or as a one-off guest purchase. Credits are tied to your account (or to a single job for guest purchases), are non-transferable and have no cash value. Because a master is a digital item delivered immediately, you agree that supply begins as soon as you download it and that you lose the statutory 14-day cancellation right at that point. Unused credits are refundable within 14 days of purchase. If a technical fault on our side produces a corrupt or failed master, contact us and we will re-run the job or restore the credit.

6. FAIR USE

The service is for mastering your own music. You may not resell access, offer the service to third parties as your own, upload content you have no rights to, or attempt to overload, reverse-engineer or interfere with the service. We may suspend access for misuse.

7. NO WARRANTY & LIABILITY

The service is provided "as is". Results depend heavily on the source mix, and we do not guarantee any particular sonic outcome, loudness, availability or uninterrupted operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for the master(s) concerned. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

8. GENERAL
